PMP Certification in Pakistan: Cost, Eligibility and Exam Booking (2026)
Candidates in Pakistan earn the PMP through the same steps as everyone else: apply to PMI, get approved, pay, then book a Pearson VUE appointment. What needs more planning in Pakistan is paying a US-dollar fee from a rupee account, choosing between a test center in Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad and an online appointment, and making sure your connection and power hold for four hours. This guide covers those Pakistan specifics.

How much does the PMP cost in PKR?
Use the US-price benchmark below to estimate a budget at about 279 PKR per USD (indicative rate, October 2026). PMI's regional prices, membership offers, taxes and your bank's fees can change the final total. Confirm the quote for your account before paying.
| Cost item | With PMI membership | Without membership |
|---|---|---|
| PMI annual membership | $164 (about PKR 45,756) | Not needed |
| PMP exam fee | $405 (about PKR 112,995) | $655 (about PKR 182,745) |
| Exam and membership subtotal (training excluded) | $569 (about PKR 158,751) | $655 (about PKR 182,745) |
Fees as listed by PMI (US pricing) and on our PMP exam cost guide. PMI decides any local tax at checkout, so confirm the final amount before you pay.
PMI charges the fee in US dollars by card, so the rupee figures above are budgeting estimates at an indicative October 2026 rate: about PKR 112,995 for the member exam fee, about PKR 182,745 for the non-member exam fee and about PKR 45,756 for a year of PMI membership. Your bank converts the dollar amount at its own rate and may add fees or taxes on international card payments, so the amount on your statement can differ from these estimates. Before you apply, check that your debit or credit card is enabled for international online payments and that its limit covers the full charge.
With the US benchmark, membership plus the member exam fee is $86 below the non-member exam fee before taxes. Compare your actual regional totals to decide whether membership fits your needs.
Booking the exam
- Test center: Pearson VUE has offered PMI exams at centers in cities such as Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Centers and dates change, so confirm what is currently available near you on the Pearson VUE PMI page before you plan travel from another city.
- Online (OnVUE): confirm that online proctoring is offered for Pakistan when you book, because availability can differ by country. If it is offered, you need a private room, a webcam, a stable connection and a clear desk.
- Connection and power: an online exam runs for up to four hours, so a dropped connection matters. Use a wired or strong Wi-Fi connection, keep a backup power source for your router and laptop, and avoid times when your area usually loses power if you know them.
- Payment first: a declined card in the middle of the process costs time. Ask your bank to enable international e-commerce payments on the card before you submit the payment, and keep the PMI receipt for your records.
- ID: your government ID must match the name on your PMI application, including spelling and the order of names. Fix any mismatch in your PMI profile before booking.
For check-in timing and permitted items, follow your Pearson VUE confirmation. Our PMP exam day checklist covers the rest.
Exam language
The exam is delivered in English for candidates in Pakistan; confirm the language for your appointment when booking. Questions are long, scenario based and timed, so practice reading full sets in English at exam pace: 180 questions in 240 minutes leaves a little over a minute per question. Our PMP glossary helps with PMI terms.
Eligibility
PMI's four PMP experience pathways are 60 months with a secondary credential, 48 months with an associate or qualifying vocational credential, 36 months with a bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 24 months with a GAC-accredited bachelor's or postgraduate degree. Count non-overlapping project leadership experience within the previous 10 years.
You also need 35 hours of qualifying project-management training; an active CAPM satisfies that training requirement. Check the credential mapping and documentation in our PMP eligibility guide and PMI's official requirements before applying.
Local community
PMI has chapters in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. They run events and PDU sessions, which are useful before the exam for study partners and after it for the 60 PDUs you need every three years to renew. Find the current chapter details through the chapter directory in your PMI account. A local study group also makes it easier to compare notes on payment and booking steps with people who have just done them.
A study rhythm that fits your schedule
Alongside a full-time job, a workable rhythm is short weekday sets of 20 to 30 questions on one topic, plus one longer weekend block for timed practice and review. If you fast during Ramadan or have family commitments around Eid, plan lighter weeks around those dates rather than booking the exam into them. Our PMP study plan guide has sample schedules, and a free account includes a study plan generator that builds a week-by-week plan from your target date and weekly hours.
Before booking, take at least two full 180-question mock exams (the live exam is 180 questions, 170 scored plus 10 unscored pretest, in 240 minutes) and drill your weakest areas with the topic guides.
