How much does the PMP cost in INR?
Use the US-price benchmark below to estimate a budget at about 95 INR per USD (indicative rate, October 2026). PMI's regional prices, membership offers, taxes and your bank's fees can change the final total. Confirm the quote for your account before paying.
| Cost item | With PMI membership | Without membership |
|---|---|---|
| PMI annual membership | $164 (about INR 15,580) | Not needed |
| PMP exam fee | $405 (about INR 38,475) | $655 (about INR 62,225) |
| Exam and membership subtotal (training excluded) | $569 (about INR 54,055) | $655 (about INR 62,225) |
Fees as listed by PMI (US pricing) and on our PMP exam cost guide. PMI decides any local tax at checkout, so confirm the final amount before you pay.
The rupee floats against the US dollar, so the rupee figures here are budgeting estimates at an indicative October 2026 rate. PMI shows rupee pricing for Indian accounts where available; check the exact amount in your own checkout.
With the US benchmark, membership plus the member exam fee is $86 below the non-member exam fee before taxes. Compare your actual regional totals to decide whether membership fits your needs.
Booking the exam
- Test center: Pearson VUE centers operate in major cities including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. Weekend seats fill quickly; book two to three weeks ahead. Use the Pearson VUE PMI page to see current centers and times.
- Online (OnVUE): take the exam from home. You need a private room, a webcam, a stable connection and a clear desk — worth confirming with your internet provider before exam day.
- Timing: many Indian candidates book early-morning slots before work hours or weekend slots; both go early during peak January and July windows.
Exam language
PMI lists English among the PMP exam languages, and most candidates in India test in English. Confirm the language available for your appointment when booking, and practice timed questions in the language you intend to use.
Eligibility
PMI's four PMP experience pathways are 60 months with a secondary credential, 48 months with an associate or qualifying vocational credential, 36 months with a bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 24 months with a GAC-accredited bachelor's or postgraduate degree. Count non-overlapping project leadership experience within the previous 10 years.
You also need 35 hours of qualifying project-management training; an active CAPM satisfies that training requirement. Check the credential mapping and documentation in our PMP eligibility guide and PMI's official requirements before applying.
Local community
PMI chapters in India — including the PMI Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi chapters — run events, PDU-earning sessions and study groups. Search your city on PMI's chapter directory from your PMI account to find the nearest one.
A study rhythm that fits your schedule
Most working candidates in India prepare over 8 to 12 weeks alongside a full schedule: short weekday sessions on one topic and a longer weekend block for timed practice. Our PMP exam prep guide has full 4, 8 and 12-week plans.
Before booking, take at least two full 180-question mock exams (the live exam is 180 questions, 170 scored plus 10 unscored pretest, in 240 minutes) and drill your weakest areas with the topic guides.
