PMP Certification in Saudi Arabia: Cost, Eligibility and Exam Booking (2026)

Demand for certified project managers in Saudi Arabia has grown with the large programs launched under Vision 2030, and the PMP is the credential most project roles ask for. This guide gives Saudi candidates the cost in riyals, where to sit the exam, how the Arabic language aid works, and how to plan study around a Sunday-to-Thursday week.

Start with our free PMP practice questions to see where you stand.

PMP cost in Saudi riyals

You pay PMI in US dollars. The riyal is pegged at 3.75 to the dollar, so the SAR amounts below only move if PMI changes its prices. The cheapest route is to join PMI first: about SAR 2134 for membership plus the exam, against SAR 2456 for the exam alone as a non-member.

Cost itemWith PMI membershipWithout membership
PMI annual membership$164 (about SAR 615)Not needed
PMP exam fee$405 (about SAR 1,519)$655 (about SAR 2,456)
Total first-time cost$569 (about SAR 2,134)$655 (about SAR 2,456)

Fees as listed by PMI (US pricing) and on our PMP exam cost guide. PMI decides any local tax at checkout, and your bank may add a card fee, so confirm the final amount before you pay.

Where to sit the exam

Pearson VUE delivers the PMP in Saudi Arabia at test centers in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar (which also serves Dammam and the Eastern Province). Check current centers and dates on the Pearson VUE PMI page. If you live far from these cities, the online OnVUE exam is usually the better choice; you need a private room, a webcam and a reliable connection.

With a Sunday-to-Thursday working week, a Friday or Saturday slot avoids taking a day off; book early if you want a weekend date. During Ramadan, test-center hours are often reduced.

Arabic language aid

PMI offers the PMP exam with an Arabic language aid: the Arabic translation appears next to the English question, not instead of it. Request it when you schedule. It helps if you are more comfortable reading technical Arabic, but it also means more text on screen, so practice with timed sets in the language you will use on exam day.

Do you qualify?

PMI asks for 35 hours of project management education and experience leading projects: 36 months with a four-year degree, or 60 months with a secondary degree. An active CAPM counts toward the education requirement. Experience on government and giga-project work counts the same as any other project, as long as you led and directed the work. Our PMP exam requirements guide explains how to describe that experience for the PMI audit.

Local chapter

The PMI Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Chapter organizes events and networking for practitioners in the Kingdom. You can add chapter membership on the PMI Saudi Arabia Chapter page.

Preparing while working full time

A realistic plan for most working candidates is 8 to 12 weeks: one topic per weekday evening, then a timed practice set over the weekend. Track your weakest areas with the PMP topic guides, and do not book the exam until you have completed at least two full 180-question mock exams. For complete week-by-week schedules, see our PMP exam prep guide.
